Materialized Views

Reports Wand now lets users create, schedule, and manage Oracle Materialized Views (MVs) directly from Excel. A materialized view is a precomputed, stored snapshot of a query’s results. Because the data is calculated and saved in advance, reports built on it open and run much faster than reports that rerun the underlying query each time. This helps address performance issues with Reports Wand reports.

View, create, update and delete Wands specific materialized views.

Create a Materialized View by entering a view name, SQL, and job information.

Note: Newly created views use standard defaults (complete/on-demand refresh, built immediately, query-rewrite disabled). These advanced Oracle options are not exposed in the wands user interface and handled by the backend to reduce complexity.
