Report Definition Manager

Open the Report Definition Manager from the from the multi data source (MDS) menu on the Reports Wand Excel ribbon. The Report Definition Manager will allow users to create, edit and delete MDS report definitions.

Create a MDS Report Definition

Click on the “New” button. Provide the details required for the report definition and select the relevant data source connection.

Click “Next”. Enter the SQL for the report definition. Bind Variables can be defined using the question mark (?) character for MySQL, Microsoft SQLServer, and Other Jdbc database types. The conventional colon parameter name (:param_example) can be used for the Oracle database type.

Click “Next”. The SQL will validate, and move you to the next stage should it be successful.

Update the bind variables should any have been defined in the SQL. If question mark (?) has been used for the bind variable, the bind variable name will need to be updated.

Add the MDS Report Definition to an Oracle EBS request group. This standard request group logic is applied to MDS report definitions, and therefor, any user with a responsibility linked to the request group will have access to the report definition.

Click “Finish”. A confirmation of the report definition will be displayed.

Edit a MDS Report Definition

Select the report definition you would like to modify from the report definition selection stage. Click “Next” and make any changes necessary to the report definition. Please see the Create a New Report Definition instructions, for additional MDS report definition information.
